L'Anuwa Pharmacy operates as a digital marketplace connecting Nigerian customers with licensed community pharmacies and qualified health professionals. Every medicine sold on the platform is dispensed by a pharmacy registered with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) and stocks regulated by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). This page is maintained by L'Anuwa Pharmacy and is not an independent certification.
1. Onboarding & verification
Before a pharmacy or provider can transact on L'Anuwa, we verify:
- PCN Premises Licence for the pharmacy.
- Current Annual Licence to Practise for the superintendent pharmacist.
- CAC business registration and director/owner identification.
- For nurses and other providers: NMCN or relevant council licence.
- For riders: a government-issued ID and (where required) a rider's permit.
Documents are uploaded through the in-app verification flow, reviewed by our admin team, and re-verified at renewal.
2. Prescription-only medicines
Medicines classified by NAFDAC as Prescription-Only (POM) cannot be dispensed without a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner. The pharmacist may contact the prescribing doctor for clarification, refuse to dispense, or substitute with an equivalent product where clinically appropriate.
3. Controlled substances
Narcotic and psychotropic substances scheduled under the Dangerous Drugs Act and NAFDAC regulations are not sold through the L'Anuwa marketplace.
4. Cold chain & storage
Pharmacies are expected to maintain temperature logs for refrigerated products. Riders carry insulated bags for cold-chain items, and orders with cold-chain SKUs are flagged for priority dispatch.
5. Pharmacovigilance & adverse events
If you experience an adverse reaction or suspect a quality defect, please:
- Stop using the product and consult a healthcare professional.
- Report it to us via the Contact page so we can notify the dispensing pharmacy and our compliance team.
- Report directly to NAFDAC's pharmacovigilance system at primaryreporting.who-umc.org/NG.
6. Counterfeit reporting
If you suspect a counterfeit medicine, contact us immediately. We will quarantine the pharmacy's affected SKUs pending investigation, support you with a refund or replacement, and report to NAFDAC where indicated.
7. Advertising of medicines
Product listings follow NAFDAC's advertising guidelines: no exaggerated claims, no unverified health benefits, and POMs are not promoted to the general public.
8. Data protection
Health data is processed in line with our Privacy Policy and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
